Electropolishing
Clean and pure surfaces
Production of particle- and fibre-free surfaces. High resistance to pitting corrosion (preventing metal particles from entering medicinal products). Thanks to the deburring effect of electropolishing, metal flakes and grinding residues can no longer end up in the pharmaceutical product. Even older ‘mirror-polish’ surfaces, originally achieved by grease milling, are given a high-quality, hygienic finish through electropolishing. Electropolishing removes all ground-in dirt and grease from the mechanically polished high-gloss layers.
Electropolishing is currently the only known technique for achieving surfaces free of micro-crevices.
Electropolishing also ensures a high level of corrosion resistance in pharmaceutical reactors, pipework, etc.
Given the sometimes aggressive cleaning agents used, electropolishing offers a definite advantage in pharmaceutical applications.
