Packo offers both glass bead blasting and ceramic bead blasting services for stainless steel only.
Both processes are particularly well-suited to cosmetically concealing surface defects (damage, welding flaws, shallow scratches). The result is a satoin grey finish with a surface roughness that is always slightly greater than the original surface condition (cold-rolled, ground, etc.). Subsequent passivation or electrolytic polishing is usually recommended to ensure maximum corrosion resistance and improved cleanability.

In addition, you can also come to us for all forms of ‘soft blasting’, usually based on the principle of wet blasting using a slurry of abrasives and water. (sometimes also known by various names: Pure, Fine, Viwa, Sublimotion, water blasting, wet blasting, hydro-sablage, …) Here too, the rule applies: blasting always increases – slightly or to a greater extent – the surface roughness. The pressure can be adjusted according to the required Ra value.

For surfaces in direct contact with food, the necessary precautions must be taken with regard to hygiene and corrosion.
Thorough consultation in advance is essential to achieve a functional surface.
